Hy-Ram Reflects on a Fantastic Week at IFAT Munich 2026

After months of preparation, the Hy-Ram team was delighted to return to IFAT Munich this May – and what an incredible 4 days it was.

As the world’s leading trade fair for water, wastewater, recycling, and environmental technologies, IFAT once again brought together thousands of industry professionals from across the globe to share ideas, showcase innovation, and discuss the future of infrastructure and utilities.

The 2026 exhibition marked the event’s 60th anniversary and welcomed around 142,000 visitors and 3,400 exhibitors from more than 60 countries.

For Hy-Ram, this year’s event was particularly special as it coincided with our own 50th anniversary celebrations. It was a fantastic opportunity to reflect on how far we’ve come as a business while also looking ahead to the future of pipeline innovation and infrastructure technology.

Showcasing new innovations

Throughout the exhibition, we attracted visitors from across the utilities and infrastructure sectors, all keen to learn more about the latest developments from Hy-Ram.

We showcased a range of new and updated products, including:

As always, it was great to get feedback directly from the organisations that use our equipment, and the response was very positive.

Key themes from IFAT 2026

This year’s IFAT focused heavily on sustainability, circularity, water security and the future resilience of infrastructure networks. Across the exhibition halls and conference programme – as well as in our conversations with fellow event-goers – there was a clear emphasis on:

  • Environmental technologies and circular economy solutions
  • Water resilience and climate adaptation
  • Integrating green hydrogen into future energy infrastructure
  • Digitalisation and smart utility networks

IFAT 2026 highlighted just how rapidly the utilities and environmental sectors continue to evolve. Plus, it gave our team an invaluable opportunity to hear directly from those working within the industry every day, helping us better understand the challenges utilities and contractors are facing globally.

Valuable conversations

One of the biggest highlights of the week was the opportunity to reconnect with existing customers, distributors and industry partners, while also meeting many new contacts from around the world.

Some of the key discussions we had throughout the event included:

  1. Challenges around the correct preparation of PE pipe for electrofusion
  2. Solutions required for PE pipe suffering from ovality in warmer climates
  3. Large diameter branch connections on potable water mains in Latin America
  4. The importance of robust and reliable supply of product
  5. Nuances of legislation and on-site practices in different markets
  6. Which country has the best table foosball talent 😄

Celebrating 50 years of Hy-Ram Engineering

IFAT 2026 also gave us the perfect platform to celebrate Hy-Ram’s 50th anniversary with customers, colleagues, and partners from across the sector.

We’d like to thank everyone who visited the Hy-Ram stand during the exhibition. Whether you stopped by for a quick chat, a product demonstration, or a more detailed discussion about future projects, it was great to connect with so many people across the week.
