Client Spotlight: Brays Pipelines

At Hy-Ram Engineering, we take pride in partnering with businesses that push boundaries in the water and utilities sector. One such partner is Brays Pipelines, a key player in water service management and large-scale utility distribution in the East Midlands.

1. Who are you and what does your company do?

Brays Pipelines is one of the leading underground pipeline contractors within the East Midlands. We specialise in the maintenance, repair, and replacement of pipelines, and are the main contractor working alongside local authorities, Severn Trent Water and many insurance companies.

From leak detection to boiler and heating maintenance, our work ensures that critical water infrastructure remains functional and up to date, serving homes and businesses efficiently.

We’re also excited to share our growth into the wider utilities sector with our newly established business venture, Brays Pipelines & Utilities. This expansion reflects our commitment to growth and innovation within the industry. Watch this space!

2. How do Brays Pipelines use our products & services and what impact has this made?

We use Hy-Ram’s products every day in our operations, particularly for maintaining and renewing customer water services within the Severn Trent network.

We particularly rely on impact moles for many of our water service replacement and renewal projects. These trenchless tools have been instrumental in allowing us to complete our work without the need for open digging or trenching. This is important because it saves a significant amount of time and reduces costs for both us and our clients.

Perhaps even more critically, using impact moles greatly reduces the risk of cable strikes and other potential hazards that can arise with traditional open dig methods. The safety and efficiency they bring to our operations make them a key part of our toolkit.

As well as purchasing and hiring a range of products from Hy-Ram, we also rely on their repair and calibration services to keep everything running smoothly. Over the 20+ years we’ve worked together, their products and support have been integral to helping us meet our objectives. Whether we’re performing public or private water service repairs, having access to reliable equipment and quick repair services is vital to our success.

3. Why did you choose Hy-Ram for support with the sales, hire and repair?

We chose Hy-Ram because of their exceptional service and local coverage across our network. They’ve proven time and again to be problem-solvers, always providing the high level of support that we need to complete our projects efficiently. Other suppliers we’ve worked with haven’t been able to match the same level of expertise and dedication to helping us solve complex challenges.

4. Would you recommend us to others in the water sector?

Absolutely, without hesitation! We’ve been working with Hy-Ram for over two decades, and their products and services have been a key factor in our success. Whether it’s their wide range of equipment or their reliable support, we highly recommend Hy-Ram to others in the water sector looking for a partner that can deliver on both quality and service.
